## What it does

You upload a machinery user manual as a Word (.docx) file. EU Manuals checks it
against the 22 instruction requirements of Directive 2006/42/EC (Annex I, section
1.7.4.2, points (a) to (v)), gives it a compliance score from 0 to 100, and lists
the gaps it finds. Each gap is marked critical or non-critical and tied to the
point it relates to, and each finding says what is missing or too thin in the
manual. With an email address, the free detailed review also recommends what to
add or change for each point with a gap. If you want the gaps fixed, you answer
questions about your machine; EU Manuals then writes the missing parts from your
answers and returns a corrected Word document, with every change highlighted. It
can also translate the corrected manual into any of the 24 official EU languages.

## Manuals in other languages

Manuals in any of the 24 official EU languages get their results in the same
language as the manual. Manuals in other languages, such as Chinese, Japanese,
Turkish or Arabic, are accepted too. Their results come in English, you can answer
the questions in English or any EU language you choose, and the corrected manual is
written in the EU language you order. That order always includes one translation,
so it costs at least 163.99 EUR excluding VAT.

## Pricing

- Free quick scan — a compliance score and the gaps found. No account, no card.
- Free detailed review — checks every requirement, shows exactly what is
  missing, and gives a recommendation for each point with a gap: what to add or
  change. It needs an email address. The manual itself is not changed.
- Corrected Word manual — 149 EUR per manual, one-off, no subscription. Includes
  an automatic re-check that shows the score before and after.
- Translation — 14.99 EUR per language, into any of the 24 official EU languages,
  as a separate Word file per language.
- Prices exclude VAT. VAT is added at checkout where it applies. For businesses
  only.

## What it does NOT do

EU Manuals is an automated pre-review. It does not certify CE compliance, it does not issue
declarations of conformity, and it is not legal advice. The manufacturer remains responsible
for the conformity assessment and for the CE marking of the machine.

It checks the 22 points of Directive 2006/42/EC only. It does not check the additions of
Regulation (EU) 2023/1230, and it does not check conformity with EN ISO 20607 or
IEC/IEEE 82079-1. It does not supply facts about the machine, such as noise values or
masses: those come from your answers.

## Data handling

Uploaded files are encrypted, stored in the EU, deleted 30 days after the session's last
step, and never used to train AI models. Document processing and AI analysis run on servers
in the EU. Payment processing and the website's worldwide delivery network
(which pages and requests can pass through) are handled by partners that may process data
in the United States under EU-approved safeguards. If the main AI provider or the main email
provider is unavailable, a backup provider in the United States may be used temporarily.
